Jill SteinDr. Jill Stein is a mother, physician, and a longtime teacher of internal medicine. Jill was born in Chicago Illinois but now lives in Massachusetts. Jill began, or joined the Green Party to advocate for the environment as a human health issue in 1998. Just then she realized that politicians were simply not acting to protect children from the toxic threats emerging from current science. She offered her services to parents, teachers, community groups and a native Americans group seeking to protect their communities from toxic exposure. Jill simply just wanted to go green to help the economy, atmosphere and the health of America's Children. Jill has testified before numerous legislative panels as well as local and state governmental bodies. She ran for President in 2012, and she also ran for governor of Massachusetts twice, once in 2002, and another time in 2010. She has also helped with numerous projects that have helped Massachusetts go green. For example, she played a key role in the effort to get the Massachusetts fish advisories updated to better protect women and children from mercury contamination in lakes. Stein is all about creating a better environment and she does a great job as a leader in the Green Party.

Cheri HonkalaCheri Honkala went through many rough times during her childhood. Cheri was born into poverty in Minneapolis, Minnesota. At the age of 17, Honkala went through a dramatic experience. Her Brother, Mark, committed suicide. She was trauma-tized by this awful experience. During the time she was pregnant and when she had her baby she decided to name him after her brother that she loved so dearly. Cheri and her 9 year old son at the time were living in their car because they had a minimal amount of money. Then things got even worse when their car was demolished by a drunk driver. Later, they were forced to look for a shelter to stay and live in the winter time. Because her son was so old, he couldn't be with his mom, so it was a struggle to find a place to live. Shortly after, Cheri found a job and started to make some money. After she got back on her feet she was helping many poverty associations, as well as she co-founded the Kensington Welfare Rights Union and the Poor People's Economic Human Rights Campaign. Because of all her recognition of her actions, she joined the Green Party and became a strong member of the party. She then decided to step it up and she ran in the 2012 election for vice president, representing the Green Party. She ran with Jill Stein, but they lost by a landslide.
